If there’s one day trip from Split that actually lives up to the hype, it’s Krka National Park. Just an hour and a half away, this lush stretch of waterfalls perfectly captures the magic of Croatia. I’m usually drawn to more privately held and curated experiences, but every so often, something simple surprises me. This semi-private day trip turned out to be the best €30 I spent in Croatia, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
You’ll start the morning with a pickup from your driver in Split before heading inland toward Skradinski Buk, the park’s most famous waterfall. Your guide will walk you through the area’s rich history, from centuries-old water mills and stone bridges to local traditions, before you arrive at the falls themselves. It’s one of those places that photos can never fully capture, but you’ll still want to take plenty.
After exploring the walking paths and the award-winning Ethno Village, you’ll board a boat down the Krka River toward Skradin, which is a peaceful little town where time slows down. You can wander the marina, grab a coffee by the water, or cool off with a swim before heading back to Split.
This day trip from Split is such an incredible way to spend the day away from the crowds, indulging in Croatia’s natural beauty. I’ve linked below the exact guided experience we booked, which has almost two-thousand five-star reviews.
