Travel Essentials For a Long International Flight

Preparing for a long international flight can be incredibly daunting (especially if you don’t like flying) but with the right self-care items, tech accessories and sleeping aids, you can make the journey much more comfortable. On a long haul flight, you’ll want to make sure that you’re staying plenty hydrated, and that you have all the essentials on-hand to make your travels as pleasant as possible.

Without further ado, we’ve put together our list of favorite travel essentials for a long international flight. Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Beauty & Self Care Items:

1. Hydrating facial mist: Keep your skin refreshed and hydrated throughout the flight with a travel-sized facial mist.

2. Moisturizing lip balm: Combat dry airplane air with a nourishing lip balm to keep your lips soft and smooth.

3. Sanitizing wipes: For the obvious task of wiping down your seat, seatbelt and tray in front of you. Also, if you’re touching up your make-up at all, you can wipe your make-up brushes with these for a quick clean.

4. Compression Socks: Wearing compression socks is an absolute must on a long-haul flight, to support healthy circulation and to also prevent swelling of your legs and ankles during your travels. Bombas are our favorite choice for comfortable compression socks!

5. Under Eye Masks: These are such a great self-care accessory to have if your eyes tend to get puffy while you’re traveling.

6. Heatless Curl Stylers: We know, this one sounds silly. But, you can easily make 30 minutes go by quickly by styling your hair in heatless curls. Before you land, you can unravel them for fresh, bouncy curls right off the plane!

Items For Sleeping:

7. Neck pillow: Packing a neck pillow is crucial for providing a supportive and comfortable position while you nap on the plane.

8. Noise-canceling headphones: Block out the noise of the airplane and enjoy your favorite music or movies in peace.

9. A foot-hammock: Trust us with this one, it’s very much worth it! If you’re not flying business class or if you can’t stretch out your legs, this is an incredible alternative so that you can get more comfortable.

Tech & Electronics:

10. Portable charger: Keep your devices charged throughout the flight to stay entertained and connected. While business-class usually has outlets available, these portable chargers can come in handy if your outlet doesn’t work, or if you’ve booked an economy seat.

11. Travel adapter: Don’t forget to pack a universal travel adapter to keep your devices powered up in any country. We like the one linked here, because it can be used in the USA, UK and Europe.
